Media Public Relations Manager

Position Summary

We are seeking to hire a Media (Public) Relations manager who will be responsible for building and maintaining a positive image for our companies. You will be in charge of establishing and maintaining relationships with the public and partners by writing press releases, news stories and other media communications, responding to requests for information and press conferences, and coaching portfolio companies representatives in the correct way of communicating with the public.

To be successful in this role, you will need a deep understanding of the media business. You will also need excellent written and verbal communication skills. 


What You Will Do

  • Responding to requests for information release or press conference from the media or designating a spokesperson or source of information.
  • Establishing and maintaining relationships with public and media partners.
  • Writing press releases and other media communications to promote portfolio companies.
  • Coaching internal and external stakeholders in effective communication with the public.
  • Studying the organization's objectives, promotional policies, and needs to build public relations strategies that influence public opinion and promote products, ideas, and services.
  • Preparing and editing publications, including newsletter, reports and news for internal and external audiences.
  • Updating and maintaining Web content.
  • Media channel relationships.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree in journalism, PR, marketing or related field.
  • 3+ years in media relations/PR agency.
  • Excellent at writing like a journalist
  • Excellent at verbal communication skills to pitch stories.
  • Have existing relationships with traditional outlets.
  • Creativity in securing coverage and buzz with traditional outlets.
  • Experienced in pitching and forming relationships with the media.
  • Experienced in running PR campaigns that deliver measurable results and meet objectives.
  • Deadline-oriented, inquisitive, with great follow-up and reporting skills.
